About The Machine, and About The Blog

What machine?  Why the amazing cooking machine!
On 14 December 2010, a good friend of mine ("S") introduced her fifth baby into the home - a German-born adopted child, who was already very skilled in the culinary arts (well, most of them) and ready for a life of hard service.  It's arrival came after weeks of anticipation of all this magic machine could do.  By June 2011 she was a demonstrator, and has, by the end of August, sold quite a large number.
Unfortunately, I am not one of the purchasers.  I want to be, but I have other plans for my cash.
I realise that I still need to use a range of appliances which are stored on top of my kitchen cupboards.
I realise that I will still waste money purchasing tinned soups and take-away when I am too tired to go about cooking the long way.
I realise that I'm not always going to know what hidden nasties are in this sauce or that packet mix.
So I have embarked on a bit of a challenge to try and use my existing one-trick ponies, skills and ingredients to replicate some of The Machine's trademark products.  Who knows?  I might even save some money along the way and save up for The Machine.
This blog could be either comedy or tragedy.  I will rely on your encouragement, ideas and prompts to make it fly!
